A Call To Action (The Prayer of Redemption)

THE REPENTER’S PRAYER:

A Call To Action (A Prayer of Redemption) 1

Have you felt the tug of GOD’S Holy Spirit drawing you to Himself for Salvation?

Are you ready to begin a relationship with your Creator and know Him as Savior?

First of all, ask yourself what you believe about God.  Can you agree with this statement?

“I affirm my belief in one true God, infinite Spirit, creator, and sustainer of all things, who exists eternally in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence but distinct in person and function.” 1

Have you taken these steps?

  1. I have confessed publicly (before at least one other person) that I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins.
  2. I have asked God to forgive my sins and cleanse me from unrighteousness.
  3. I believe I have been made righteous by faith (not by my effort) in the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
  4. I have asked Jesus, by faith, to be my Savior and Lord over my life – I live for Him.

If not – AND if you would like to ask Jesus to come into your heart and life right now, bow your head right now, and repeat after me…

Father God, HAVE MERCY on me; I am a sinner in need of Your forgiveness.

I believe that you sent your Son Jesus to die on the cross for my sins, & I turn to Him now by faith.

Dear Jesus, I ask You to come into my heart now by Your Holy Spirit

Forgive me of my sins, and cleanse me by Your precious Blood from all unrighteousness

Fill me with Your Holy Spirit from this day forward, and help me to cling to You as Lord.

I desire to live for You as You show me how

I pray this prayer in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen 2

If you prayed this prayer, congratulations; you are now a child of God. Begin to talk with Him daily as you would a dear friend. Get a Bible with a user-friendly translation and pray for understanding as you seek God daily in His Word. Ask God to lead you to a Church where you can be in fellowship with other believers.

John 10: 10 (AMP), “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].”

1 Adopted from the “Liberty University Doctrinal Statement (LDS):” https://www.liberty.edu/about/doctrinal-statement/ LDS – I affirm that I can be saved only through the work of Jesus Christ, through repentance of sin, and by faith alone in Him as Savior. The believer is declared righteous, born again by the Holy Spirit, turned from sin, and assured of heaven.

2 Romans 3: 23-24 (Amplified Bible (AMP) – Zondervan) “…All have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God, and are being justified [declared free of the guilt of sin, made acceptable to God, and granted eternal life] as a gift by His [precious, undeserved] grace, through the redemption [the payment for our sin] which is [provided] in Christ Jesus…Romans 10: 9-10 “…if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation.
