From the Desk of Donna Williams Smith, D.Min.
Saturday, January 27, 2024 – International Holocaust Remembrance Day
Someone said Freedom is Fragile; truer words have not been spoken.
Therefore, on this commemorative date, this Minister encourages all to draw near to God (whatever your faith) as we ponder the truth of the Holocaust as a solemn opportunity for learning and self-examination.
To quote United States Holocaust Museum Chairman Stuart Eizenstat “We have seen an alarming increase of antisemitism in America and the world since October 7th (Hamas atrocities in Israel).” See the entire commemorative program at the link provided.
We are vulnerable to the sickness of bigotry and hate even more so as many abandon faith in the God of the Holy Scriptures and adopt all manner of clandestine and exotic spirituality.
Lord Help us!
Dear Heavenly Father,
This Minister prays for the peace of Jerusalem (Pss. 122) and lifts not only persecuted Jews, but also persecuted peoples whoever, and wherever they are in the world to Your Throne of Grace entreating You for Your Sovereign Rule to prevail.
Lord, I worship, exalt, and magnify You and covet your Sovereignty, Lord. This Minister appropriates the pre-eminence to You and Your Divine Authority. Additionally, Lord, Your Kingdom represents rescue from ourselves, and our fallen humanity. Furthermore, it represents standards of perfect equity, perfect provision, and perfect justice …against such there is no law.
There’s none like You Lord, none so loving, so compassionate, so tender. so faithful in all Your ways. When man is faithless and cruel, Your Superlative Character remains immutable and altogether lovely.
We can depend upon Your constancy and TRUTH through every age and every season of our Lives as we seek You ( in Christ ). Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven, for the sake of the Name of Your dear Son, in Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen and Amen!
